With our wedding expenses adding up, I knew I needed to find an affordable lighting option for our indoor/outdoor reception. After scouring reddit for ideas, I found DIY Uplighting. I shared a full YouTube video with actual wedding footage and a demonstration of what you receive, but I also wanted to add details on our experience using the service on the blog!
1. Placing the Order & Costs
On DIYUplighting.com, they have very clear instructions for the ordering process. You enter the day of your event, quantity needed, and the type of lights. I went for the most affordable option. They also provide examples on Youtube, of what the products look like to get an idea of what you’re paying for and how to use it. For 10 lights, we paid $300. That’s $550 less than the cheapest quote we received for the same amount of lights.
2. Setting it Up
It is easy! All you have to do is plug them in, choose a color, and position them along walls or in areas you want to accent. For the full ambiance, you want to angle the light to reflect on the wall all the way up to the ceiling.
3. Return Process
They give you everything you need to send it back. You use the same box they came in, a stick-on return label, and drop it off at UPS! The only important thing to note is that you have a strict deadline on sending it back, or you’ll be charged a late fee.
This turned out being a great and affordable option on our wedding day! I hope this post helps if you’re considering using the service yourself.
