I’m fresh off my 30th Birthday celebration and want to share the DIY flower arrangements I put together.
I love transparent resources so I’ll be sharing the flowers I used, the tools, and the cost.

My husband threw a small party for my friends and me at our home and I wanted the house to look festive. I volunteered my services for the flowers and decor because I LOVE decorating (and I didn’t want him to spend upwards of $600). Since having a child, I find very little time to do things just because I like doing them. That’s why I jumped at the chance to play around with flowers and beautify our space.
I started off by sourcing really good-quality flowers. I skipped my go-to Trader Joe’s and went right to the source: the local flower wholesaler. Going to a wholesaler is a great way to have a wide variety to choose from at a good price.
I made a Pinterest Board beforehand on flower colors and themes that I liked. I decided to go with a pink and peach theme. Very Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!

Process
I picked up all the flowers the morning before the event. We went to the local floral wholesaler in the area to pick out the stems. For amateur (like me) floral arrangements, buying high-quality flowers is essential.
I kept all the stems in water until I was ready to work with them. For prep, I removed the leaves on all the Expresso roses and opened them up.
Starting with the greenery, I began arranging and cutting them at different lengths. I began with adding in the roses first, then Gomphrena, Queen Annes Lace, Ranunculus, and Dalias. Since they have the most vibrant colors, adding in the Ranunculus and Dalias last allowed me to position them in the best spot to show off the color.

I purchased the foam pedestals when wedding planning two years ago and finally got around to using them! This helped me create more whimsical arrangements. I soaked the pedestal in water, arranging them as I went. Then I super glued them to small designer dishes to keep all the water in and the counters clean.
NOTE: Some of the flowers seemed to droop pretty quickly. I think the foam doesn’t retain enough water to keep the daintier buds super hydrated. I wouldn’t make them more than 24 hours in advance.
