Hey guys! I’ve been thinking of ways I can create more space in my home. A nice bar area would give me a place to display my glasses. Although I’d love a custom-built bar with a wine fridge and sink, I decided to make the most of what I currently have (aka not spend money on anything else) and create a dry bar instead.
The shelves we used are from Ikea! I didn’t intend to use these this way. These were actually purchased pre-pandemic and have been collecting dust in my closet for 3 years! My original plan was to make some type of shoe display or possibly a shoe shelf. But we decided to put these to good use.
In our next home, I’d love to add some fun vibrant tile backsplash behind the bar. I feel like it’s a place where you can really add some color. Since these shelves are staying white, I’m adding color with really rich wood tones. Then adding a natural element with the aloe vera plant really makes it feel warmer.

I decided to allow this to serve as a full beverage bar and moved my coffee maker over. This not only frees space in the kitchen but also makes the area even more multipurpose. I absolutely love this quick $40 upgrade!
