I love a good, organized, Pinterest-worthy kitchen. With a little time and effort, I plan to transform all of my big and small kitchen spaces into organized, labeled, and aesthetically pleasing areas.
Total cost: $40 (note: the labels were cheaper when I purchased them)
Level of difficulty: Easy
Total time: 30 minutes
To kick off his transformation, I transferred some of my favorite cleaning products from their standard commercial packaging into sleek spray bottles that suit my aesthetic instead.
Decanting cleaning products into reusable glass bottles
I happened to find these amber glass soap bottles at Target in the Dollar Spot section.
I originally purchased them for soap, but we use Aesop hand soap (that leaves your hands moisturized and smelling amazing) and the bottles are already so pretty that I didn’t want to change them. So, I decided to enlist the glasses in my quest for a more aesthetically organized kitchen instead.
I swapped out the pumps that originally came with the bottles for sprayers, which I’ve been consciously recycling from the surface cleaner I use on our quartz countertops. I decanted the cleaning liquids with a little funnel that I got from the Container Store, which made the transfer easy and mess-free.
I finished the look with these super sleek labels from Etsy, which I love! I ordered custom labels in 2.5 in. × 3 in.
Look how nice these turned out!
Organizing daily dry goods into glass containers
The next thing I tackled was some of the dry goods that I use often. On the list: flour, sugar, brown sugar, and quick oats. Aside from how streamlined it looks compared to having a motley crew of packages all over the place, it makes things like baking more efficient. You can easily open and close the containers instead of futzing with finicky sealers, take note of how much you have left of a particular ingredient, etc.
I found these black top anchor hocking jars and knew they would be both easy to get into and perfect for our minimalist kitchen design.
When I purchased them two years ago, they were on sale for $7 each! Now, it seems like you can’t find them online for less than $20. Let that be a lesson to us all: When you spot a good deal, don’t wait! The modern black tops give the space a more design-forward polish compared to traditional glass or wood top jars.
I ordered these labels from the same seller on Etsy! These are the 4” squares. They’re so simple yet so aesthetically pleasing. The acrylic scoops from the Container Store make them even more functional.
Check out my YouTube video to watch the process! I hope this gives you some organizing motivation!
