I’m a few months into exclusively Breastfeeding and let me tell you, it’s been hard! It’s not just the late nights and tiredness, it’s all the struggles that pop up in between. We’ve struggled through the latch and supply issues, and now, a DAIRY ALLERGY.
I love food and finding out my baby has the allergy has been a real bummer. The cheeses, cream sauces, and butter that I love I have to stop eating if I want to continue to breastfeed. This is a huge hurdle but I figure he’ll only be this small once. I’m determined to feed him for as long as I can.
So naturally I go on the hunt for dairy-free snacks first and foremost. Eating dairy-free meals surprisingly enough is the easy part. Withholding cheese, using a plant-based milk alternative, or just focusing on recipes that don’t include dairy is an adjustment, but doable. The test for me is snacking.
I was shocked to realize just how many snacks include dairy. It’s a lot. I’ve been doing the research, trying the products, and now want to share a list of my favorites for other Breastmilk mamas out there.
Here’s a list of some great dairy-free snacks:
- Skinny Pop Sweet & Salty Kettle Popcorn
- Nature’s Bakery Fig Bar
- Back to Nature Cookies
- Late July
- Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Chips
- Oreos
- Hippeas
- Talenti Sorbetto
- Sweet Lorens
- Jenni’s Lemon Bar
- Cracker Jacks
Having dairy-free snacks on your hands is a huge help when making the transition to dairy-free!
